Absence

‘Absence’ examines the concept of longing as a fundamental aspect of the human condition, focusing on embedded narratives and moments of provocation. Identity for me is built around unattainable ideas that shape my desires and fantasies, exploiting lifelong tensions of self-doubt and inner conflict through a performative process. The photographs stare directly into the difficulties of thought, and consequently, emotion that’s both personal and shared. By exploring ideas of power and control, my work seeks to visualise and challenge these elusive ideals; by assessing authority and autonomy, ‘Absence’ exists.
